Welcome to the electronic edition of the Canada Lands Survey Manual. In this web site you will find the survey instructions of the Surveyor General of Canada Lands. Any surveyor engaged to undertake a legal survey or prepare a plan of Canada Lands must carry out the work in accordance with the instructions of the Surveyor General. These instructions may be issued in the form of specific instructions in addition to the general instructions available on this site. In addition, the site provides online access to the historical general instructions of the Surveyor General.
